At the recommendation of our general contractor, we hired Rex Environmental to test our recently-purchased 1970s home for asbestos. Yes, it's unfortunate that there was in fact asbestos but we were tremendously grateful to Rex Environmental for doing a very thorough inspection to help us find just those areas where we needed remediation and areas (which weren't many) where we didn't. Extremely impressed with the quality, timeliness, and price of Rex's services and will likely also use them for their other specialty, testing for mold. We had Rex Environmental come test for asbestos during a plumbing emergency. They were able to take samples and have them tested very quickly so our work could proceed. We also had them come out afterward to test for asbestos in other areas of our home, and they performed the final inspection after our asbestos removal.
